All About Green Tea: Green tea in in Attenuated Risk and Treatment of Gastric Cancer

Green tea with plenty bioactive phytochemicals may have a direct impact in reduced risk and treatment of gastric cancer, some researchers suggested.

Gastric cancer is a medical condition characterized by uncontrollably growth of cells in the gastric tissues. At the late stage, the cancerous cells may infect other organs and tissue a distance away from the original site

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world. However, as yin in nature herbal medicine or food, long term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, induced "yin excessive syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome" including weaken immunity and painful case of GERD,... according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory.

According to medical literature published online, in vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) over expression in formation of new blood vessel to provide nutrients and fluids for the survival of gastric cancer, application of green tea (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) restricted the pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-6 (IL-6) induced VEGF in stimulated signal protein in transmitted alternated DNA transcript and activated suppression of anti cell apoptosis transcription 3 (Stat3).

Oral administration of green tea extract decreased levels of IL-6, VEGF overexpression in doses depending manner.

In compared to healthy individual, IL-6, VEGF expression were found to increase more than 2.4-fold in patients with gastric cancer.

In fact, the chemical compound exhibited anti cancer progressive activity by blocking the process of complex sequence of VEGF expression in transferring faulty DNA transcription to signal proliferation of cancer cells through mRNA in protein synthesis.

In other words, green tea inhibited the progression of cancer development induced by over expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) was total depended EGCG's DNA biding activity and inhibition of Stat proteins in differentiated cytoplasm into the nucleus, the important step in initiation of cancer progression.

Further analysis, according to experiments in vitro and vitro, EGCG also expressed a significant effect in the reduced the IL-6 properties in stimulated vascular endothelial cells in promoted cancer cells proliferation and formation.

After taking into account of other con founders, Dr. Zhu BH, the lead author said, "EGCG inhibits IL-6-induced VEGF expression and angiogenesis via suppressing Stat3 activity in gastric cancer, which has provided a novel mechanistic insight into the anti-angiogenic activity of EGCG".

Additionally, researchers in further illustration of the effect of EGCG (0, 5, 10, 25 or 50 μmol/L), in human gastric cancer cells (AGS) caused by IL-6 (50 μg/L) suggested that interleukin 6 (IL-6)over expression not only significantly increased VEGF expression in AGS gastric cancer cells, but also increased function of mRNA expression by more than 2.4 in the process to initiated tumor development, in dose depending manner.

Truly, treatment of bioactive EGCG with doses of 0, 5, 10, 25 or 50 μmol/L demonstrated a therapeutic activities in reduced the release protein of VEGF to stimulated and mRNA expression of alternated transcript.

In compared to AG490, a Stat3 pathway inhibitor used for treatment of gastric cancer, green tea EGCG blocked the sequence of transcript transferred step in induced expression of pSTAT3 in proliferation of cells and tumor tissues without causing change in STAT3 gene.

In 5-FU resistance of GC SGC7901/FU and MGC803/FU, gastric cancer cell lines, injection of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) displayed a significantly suppressed the proliferation and tumor growth through reversed the 5-FU resistance of GC cells thorough inhibited the P-glycoprotein 1 (MDR1) and P-glycoprotein (P-gp) also also known as multidrug resistance proteins in transmitted transcript in obstructing cell internalization of chemotherapeutic agents and developing transporter mediated resistance by cancer cells during anti-tumor treatments.

Taking altogether, green tea bioactive (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) may be considered as a potential agent in reduced risk of angiogenesis and a secondary and adjunct treatment in combined with standard chemotherapy in treatment of gastric cancers.

All About Green Tea: Green tea in Ameliorated Risk and Treatment of Liver Cancer

Green tea may have a sustainable and positive effect in reduced risk and treatment of liver cancer, Some studies suggested

Liver cancer is a medical condition caused by cell growth disorderly and uncontrollably in the liver tissues. At the later stage, the cancerous cells may travel a distance away to infect other healthy organs and tissues.

In the review of medical literature published online, green tea bioactive phytochemicals such as Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and Theaflavin (TF), in prevention and treatment of liver cancer have been postulated by several mechanisms.

In liver cancer, animal model induced by chronic exposure of N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA), a carcinogenic and mutagenic organic compound, application of green tea bioactive compounds Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and Theaflavin (TF) demonstrated a strong effect in reduced initiation of cancer formation and potential chemopreventive effect in pre and post treatment of the injected animal.

Further observation showed that EGCG/TF action in restrain the over expression of liver cancer also found to modulate similarly to those of CD44-specific cell membrane binding combined with near-infrared irradiation in induction of cellular apoptosis.

High CD44-positive expression is found to associate to acute cancer cells killing.

The restriction processes of EGCG/TF in modification of onset of liver cancer development, was also found to modify multiple biogenesis involved maintaining a relatively stable equilibrium in organs tissues(self-renewal Wnt/β-catenin, Hh/Gli1 pathways) in gene with implication of cell cycle progression, apoptosis and cellular transformation and cell differentiation and proliferation(Cyclin D1, cMyc and EGFR) and tumor suppressor (E-cadherin) during the carcinogenesis processes.

Additional illustration also indicated that the therapeutic efficacy of tea polyphenols epigallocatechin gallete (EGCG) and theaflavin (TF) also regulated the proteins expression of cell differentiation, polarity and proliferation(the self-renewal Wnt and Hedgehog (Hh) pathways).during CCl4/N-nitosodiethylamine-induced mouse liver carcinogenesis.

Application of green tea bioactive tea polyphenols epigallocatechin gallete (EGCG) and theaflavin (TF) induced chemo preventive potential in maintain cell integrity at the 30 weeks of CCl4/N-nitosodiethylamine application.

Continuous administration of EGCG/TF exerted a strong impact in reduced proliferation and increased apoptosis, as well as decreased function of hepatic progenitor cells (HPCs) in participated restoration of the cancerous liver tissue and population with cancer stem cell-like characteristics in liver carcinoma observed by AFP and CD44 expression.in CCl4/N-nitosodiethylamine-induced mouse liver carcinogenesis.

More interestingly, also during the restriction processes of EGCG/TF, the bioactive compounds also modulated the expression of tumor progression to a more invasive phenotype(phospho-β-catenin-Y-654), tumor suppressor(β-catenin), the proliferation, migration and invasion of liver cancer gene(sFRP1 ) and gene in control tumor suppressor(β-catenin).

In other words, green tea EGCG/TF inhibited the contaminated cells inflicted by injection of CCl4/N-nitosodiethylamine to prevent the initiation of liver cancer through modulation of certain gene expressions involved in liver cancer progression.

In short, the inhibition of liver carcinogenesis by EGCG/TF was attributed to reduction in hepatocyte progenitor cell and stem cell population in restored liver cancerous cells damage through various mechanisms indicated above.

Taken together, green tea bioactive ingredients epigallocatechin gallete (EGCG) and theaflavin (TF) may be a useful secondary preventive agents for targeting liver cancer in combination with standard chemotherapies.

All About Green Tea: Green tea Epigallocatechin-3-O-Gallate (EGCG) For Prevention and Treatment of Melanoma

Green tea may have a profound and sustainable effect in reduced risk and treatment of melanoma, some scientists suggested.

Melanoma, is a medical condition characterized by irregular cell growth of pigment-containing cells known as melanocytes. At the later stage, the cancerous cells may travel a distance away to infect other healthy organs and tissues.

According to the study, approximately 7,200 Canadians will be diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer.

In the review of literature published online, green tea bioactice EGCG significantly inhibited the growth, migration and invasion of melanoma cells through numbers of mechanism.

Gene implications in initiated cancer development and cancerous cells proliferation have gone through extensive research, particularly in melanoma.

In melanoma, green tea biactice EGCG demonstrated a significant effect in knockdown gene over expression (TRAF6) in reduced migration and invasion of melanoma.

TRAF6 is a protein with function in activation of IkappaB kinase (IKK) in response to inflammation.
In fact, green tea biactive EGCG directly bind to TRAF6 in melanoma in attenuated the interaction of
between TRAF6 and UBC13(E2) in activated the protein (IkappaB kinase (IKK)) in production of pro inflammatory cytokins.

The ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme(UBC13(E2)) are essential in activation protein (NF- kappa B) in controls transcription of DNA, cytokine production and cell survival.

Furthermore, the phytochemicals also suppressed the TRAF6 E3 ubiquitin ligase activity of the tumor generated by TRAF6 in regulation of important biological processes, particularly, in cell division and for the survival of the tumors.

Additionally, green tea biactice EGCG also regulated the gene expression of proteins (IκBα and p-TAK1 e) in modulation and inactivated NF-κB-directed gene expression of inflammation, immunity, cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival in melanoma.

Dr. Zhang J, the lead author said, " EGCG is a novel E3 ubiquitin ligase inhibitor that could be used to target TRAF6 for chemotherapy or the prevention of melanoma".

Other researchers in focus of Green tea polyphenol (-)-epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG) effect in attenuated and treatment of melanoma in the gene implication via MicroRNAs (miRNAs, non-coding RNAs involved in various biological processes by regulating their target genes) also indicated that

Green tea polyphenol (-)-epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG) inhibited melanoma tumor growth by activating 67-kDa laminin receptor (67LR) signaling which has an function in down regulated tumor cell proliferation and tumor formation by inducing apoptosis.

The bioactive compound also up-regulated miRNA-let-7b expression in induced tumor suppressor function in decrease function of 67LR in enhanced invasive and metastatic melanoma cells.

Indeed, green tea EGCG-also displayed a significant effect in promote function of let-7b in altering the traits,of malignant cell in melanoma through regulating the expression of HMGA2.with action as DNA transcriptional regulator.

Green tea EGCG. also induced expression of let-7b in inhibitions of oncoproteins and activation of tumor suppressor via tumor-over expressed 67LR in activation of PP2A, a tumor suppressor. through adenylate cyclase/cAMP pathway in cell communication.

In compared the effects of TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL), a protein with function in in induced tumor cells apoptosis. and green tea bioactive EGCG for treatment of groups of melanoma.
In A375 melanoma cell line, TRAIL application group demonstrated a strong effect in inhibition with apoptosis rate was 11.8% at dose of 150ng/mL in compared to green tea EGCG treatment group of 5%-7% .

Interestingly, in combined TRAIL and green tea EGCG treatment groups, the inhibited rate increased sufficiently to 48.9 - 59.1%

Further analysis also found that EGCG effective in treatment of melanoma was attributed to activity of caspase-3 rather than caspase-8 in mediation of programmed cell death (apoptosis).

The findings suggest that by blocking the sequence of gene expression of tumor, green tea polyphenol (-)-epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG) may be considered as an adjunct combined with TRAIL for prevention and treatment of melanoma.

All About Green Tea: Green tea, A Function Food In in Decreased Progression and Treatment of Her-2/ Positive Breast Cancer

Green tea may have a strong and positive impact in reduced breast cancer development in women with mutated gene HER2, some scientists suggested.

Breast cancers with HER2 gene amplification or HER2 protein overexpression are called HER2-positive HER2 is a protein that causes breast cancer cells to grow aggressively.

HER2-positive breast cancers tend to grow faster and are more likely to spread and come back in compared to HER2-negative breast cancers.

Breast cancer is a medical condition characterized by irregular cells growth in the breast tissues. At the late stage, cancerous cell may travel a distance away to infect other organs and tissues from original site.

The study of bioactive green tea polyphenol epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) was found to decrease progression of breast cancer cells with Her-2/neu over expression, through many mechanisms.

Application of green tea EGCG to Her-2/neu-driven mammary tumor cells showed a significant effect in blocking over expression of key regulators in the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) pathway in induced invasive cell proliferation in breast outer layer tissues.

Additionally, the bioactive compound also inhibited Her-2/neu-driven mammary tumor cells by enhanced genes expression in related to tumor suppressor(epithelial genes E-cadherin, gamma-catenin) and promoted tumor cell cycle arrest(MTA3) and involved in the regulation of cellular proliferation and differentiation in target tissues(estrogen receptor alpha (ERalpha)).

Further analysis the study also addressed the important role of green tea EGCG in inhibition of Her-2/neu-driven mammary tumor cells through decreased the function of snail gene in expression of tumor cells proliferative activity.

In cell migration and invasion assays, green tea EGCG also restrained branching colony growth and invasion of Her-2/neu-driven mammary tumor cells

Interestingly, invasive and metastatic I phenotypes in mouse mammary tumor cells driven by over expression of protein in transmuted transcription of DNA, involved cell survival and a messenger-independent in protect against apoptotic tumor cells also inhibited by administration of green tea EGCG.

Furthermore, green tea EGCG treatment activated FOXO3a in triggered apoptosis of tumor cells and reversed the invasive characteristic of in ERalpha-positive breast cancer cells by blocking expression of protein of transforming growth factor beta in induced tumor cell growth, cell proliferation, cell differentiation.

Further differentiation of over expression of the epidermal growth factor receptor family member Her-2/neu in breast cancer, application of EGCG not only inhibited mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV)-Her-2/neu NF639 cell growth in culture and soft agar.but also ameliorated risk of basal Her-2/neu receptor tyrosine phosphorylation in contribution of exceptional oncogenic potency. via regulation of enzymes involved in cellular growth, proliferation, differentiation (phosphatidylinositol 3- kinase), and proteins in induced oncogenic transformation (Akt kinase to NF-kappaB pathway).

In SMF derived from mammary gland tumors and cultured and also epidermal growth factor receptor 4, green tea EGCG inhibited the expression of a significantly higher phosphorylation state of basal receptor which display high constitutive Her-2/neu tumor.

Interestingly in the study of epigallocatechin-3 gallate (EGCG) effects in inhibited growth of Trastuzumab-resistant HER2-driven breast cancer cells, researchers found that EGCG treatment in a dose-dependent inhibited trastuzumab-resistant BT474 human breast cancer cells, isolated by chronic trastuzumab exposure and JIMT-1 breast cancer cells, by decreasing tumor growth, tumor cellular ATP production in absorption of chemical energy obtained from the breakdown of food molecules and releases it to fuel other cellular processes, and by inducing tumor cells apoptosis at high concentrations.

Most importantly, EGCG also suppressed multiple cellular processes such as glucose metabolism, apoptosis, cell proliferation, transcription and cell migration. of Akt activity, improved FOXO3a function in triggered apoptosis of tumor cells and elevated expression of anti tumor suppressor proteins. p27Kip1

Dr. Eddy SF , the lead author said, "EGCG in combination with trastuzumab may provide a novel strategy for treatment of HER2-over expressing breast cancers, given that EGCG can cross the blood-brain barrier".

Taking altogether, green tea with abundant bioactive polyphenol epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) may have therapeutic potential in reduced risk and progression of HER2 positive breast cancer, particularly when combined with other chemo-medicine.

All About Green Tea: Green tea, A Function Food In Reduced Risk and Treatment of Ovarian Cancer

Green tea may have a potential effect in reduced risk and treatment of ovarian cancer, some institute studies suggested

Ovarian cancer is a medical condition characterized by cell growth disorderly in the ovaries. At the late stage, cancerous cells may infect tissues and organs far away from the originated site.

In the analysis of the EGCG effects on 8 ovarian cancer cell lines (SKOV3, CAOV3, OVCAR3, OVCAR10, A2780, CP70, C30, and C200) and showed IC50s for EGCG at the micromolar range, researchers found that EGCG inhibited all ovarian cancer cell lines in dose depending manner.

Normal dose application of EGCG displayed a significant increase of antioxidant in reduced ROS over expression of oxidative stress in inhibited ovarian cancer through cell cycle arrest in G2/M phase.

Further differentiation also revealed that administration of EGCG at common dose not only demonstrated a 6 fold increase of cisplatin potency for treatment of SKOV3, CAOV3, and C200 cells, but also attenuated the chemodrug toxicity.

However, the effect of EGCG on the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) was biphasic.
The phytochemical was shown to induce and decrease ROS formation in different doses.

Therefore, higher dose of EGCG promoted over expression of antioxidants in reduced oxidative stress may amplify the toxicity in ameliorated human cancer cells proliferation and induced apoptosis.

Dr., the lead author said, "EGCG may accentuate oxidative stress to inhibit growth of ovarian cancer cells and sensitize them to cisplatin".

Other researchers in the study of toxicity of EGCG suggested that green tea catechin, (-)-epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (EGCG) as a potent adjuvant to enhance the anti tumor efficacy of cisplatin while mitigating its harmful side effects through various mechanisms.

Application of EGCG showed to promote hyaluronic acid function in regulation of normal cell division and prevention of the acid in initiation of cancerous cell proliferation.

Hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide molecule, plays an important role in cell proliferation and migration, and may involve in the progression of some malignant tumors.

Additionally, EGCG also expressed anti cancer effect by promoting the injection of chemo medicine cisplatin into the CD44-over expressing cancer cells to prevent over growth of tumor cells.

In regard to toxicity, EGCG on one hand, reduced over expression of oxidative stress in initiated toxicity against off-target organs and tissues through induction of a significant antioxidant activity on the hand, and stimulated function of toxicity originating from cisplatin into the target tumors on the other..

Further analysis, green tea catechin-based micellar nanocomplexes also inhibited superiorly against tumor growth with no injection of cisplatin and expressed a significant inhibition without induced toxicity in both cancer cells suspended in culture medium and injected into the animal models and peritoneal metastatic model of human ovarian cancer.

In other words, green tea catechin-based micellar nanocomplexes may be considered as a safe and effective cisplatin nanomedicine for ovarian cancer treatment..

More interestingly, in the additionally examined the effect of EGCG in suppressing ovarian cancer cell growth in 3 human ovarian cancer cell lines (p53 negative, SKOV-3 cells; mutant type p53, OVCAR-3 cells; and wild type p53, PA-1 cells),

EGCG decreased tumor growth in each cell line in a dose-dependent fashion and induced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, particular to the G(1) phase in SKOV-3 and OVCAR-3 cells in compared to G(1)/S transition phase arrest in PA-1 cells.

The chemical also differentiately upregulated the expression of genes and proteins in promoted cancer cell arrest, suppressed tumor growth and induced cell death (Bax, p21, Retinoblastoma, cyclin D1, CDK4, Bcl-X(L)) by more than 2-fold

Taking altogether, green tea may have a profound effect in reduced risk and treatment of ovarian cancer through expression of phytochemical EGCG. However, intake of green tea extract must be taken with care, as overdoses were found to induce liver toxicity.

All About Green Tea: Green tea, A Function Food In Reduced Risk and Treatment of Lung Cancer

Green tea may have a profound and extrinsic effect in reduced risk and treatment of lung cancer, some scientists suggested.

Adding a slice of ginger will neurtalize the yin over expression.

Ginger, is a warm herb used in TCM to warm the Middle Burnner and the Lungs, rescues Yang, transforms Phlegm by enhancing the functions of lung, spleen and stomach channels.

Lung cancer is a medical condition characterized by cells growth disorderly and uncontrollably of lung tissues. At the late stage, the cancerous cells may travel a distance from the original site to infect other organs and tissues.

In the study to investigate the anti lung cancer effect of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCg), the major polyphenolic compound present in green tea, after taking inot account of other con founders, researchers at the joint study lead by the Kyushu University of Health & Welfare, suggested that
1. The phychemical induced apoptosis of lung cancer through suppression of cell division, in cell culture
2. In human A549 human non-small-cell lung cancer cell line, EGCg inhibited cancerous cell proliferation by interfering mRNA expression in modulation of apoptotic cell death
3. Additionally, application of 100 μM EGCg for 24 h. exhibited cancerous morphological changes, thus reducing cell proliferation

The study also revealed that the efficacy of EGCg inhibited B-cell lymphoma-extra large (Bcl-xL) through expression of mRNA and suppression of gene in related to cell death.

Further analysis of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCg) in inhibited gene expression in risk of lung cancer by binding HIF-1α, in promoted cell proliferation and anchorage-independent growth, researchers launched a study to elucidate the role of microRNA in the EGCG inhibition of tobacco carcinogen-induced lung tumors in A/J mice found that 26 potential targeted genes of the 21 microRNAs. with the mRNA expression profiles may have some implications in increased lung cancer risk.

Interestingly, application of EGCg, indeed, demonstrated a significant effect in improved cell regulation and reduced cell proliferation through many mechanisms, including regulation of

1. AKT pathway in promoted survival and growth in response to extracellular signals.
2. NF-κB expression in cellular responses to stimuli such as stress, cytokines, free radicals, heavy metals, ultraviolet irradiation and
3. MAP kinases, involved variety of fundamental cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, motility, stress response, apoptosis, and survival.

In other words, Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCg) effect reduced risk and treatment of lung cancer is attributed to the inhibition of expression of RNA in transmitting information to proteins with function to initiated cancer cell change, including cell proliferation and apoptosis.

The findings also suggested that green tea Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCg) has a strong effect in reduced risk lung cancer through both expression of mutate and cancer-related genes.

More importantly, mutated genes expression has been identified in contribution to cancer development and progression, therefore by target the expression of such genes may help scientists in explore the origins of abnormal gene expression in compared to normal cells.

Other researchers suggested that by targeting both DNA and RNA data to identify alternative expression of mutated gene in patients of lung cancer may open the door by offering specific treatment only for such patients

More precisely, by identified such gene in cancer cell patients, scientist may prescribe gene targeting technology, specific medication and treatment to stop cancer from growing and spreading.

Further differentiation of the effect of green tea extract in lung cancer risk, researchers at the University in Toruń filed the following report
1. Green tea extract catechins demonstrated a significant effect in inhibition of lung cancer line A549 independent to doses applied and
2. Increased cell and marker of cell degradation
3. Green tea extract catechins also expressed a strong protective effect in reduced self cause of toxicity

Collectively, this illustration indicated that green tea extract catechins exerted anti lung cancer progression through protection against destruction and damage of redundant cellular components occurring in vacuoles within the cell without induced side effects

The evidences indicated that certain phytochemicals found in green tea may have a potential in attenuated risk and treatment of lung cancer. But intake of green tea extract supplements have been found to induce liver toxicity, particularly if overdosed.

All About Green Tea: Green tea, A Function Food for treatment of Osteosarcoma

Green tea may have a strong implication in reduced risk and treatment of osteosarcoma, some researchers suggested.

Osteosarcoma is a medical condition of bone cancer characterized by producing immature bone and occurred mostly in children and young adults between the ages of 10 and 30.

According to the study in investigation of the effects of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), in reduced risk of osteosarcoma expression in compared to miR-126 in the proliferation, invasion, migration, and chemotherapeutics resistance in cancer, application of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG)
1. Exerted a significant effect in suppresses proliferation of human cell line osteosarcoma MG63 and U2OS cells in a concentration-dependent and time-dependent manner
2. Inhibited cancer cell line at the concentration of 0.05 g/L on U2OS cells were equivalent to 20 μM cisplatin (DDP)

In compared to green tea extract induced cell death by interfering in cell cycle arrest, miR-126, the chemo suppressor drug induced apoptosis and inhibited proliferation in U2OS cell line but without significant effects on phase 1 of cancerous cell cycle division.

Further analysis, researchers suggested application of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) may increase the effect of tumor suppressing drug miR-126 and for treatment of osteosarcoma.

In fact, the inhibition of miR-126 osteosarcoma cells without inducing apoptosis and cells proliferation in cell cycle division is attributed to the medicine in target of sequences in reducing the expression of the targeted genes.

In other words, the medicine can bind directly to inhibit DNA transcription and prevented mRNA in transmitting such transcription in initiated cancer development.

Other researchers suggested that the inhibition of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) in reduced cancerous cell death does not limit to the function of cell cycle arrest, the phytochemical compoud also expressed the apoptotic effect through modulating gene expression of cancer cell line and induced degradation of cancerous cellular structure.

Additional evaluation of the phytochemical Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) and the tumor suppressed drug miR-1 effect in osteosarcoma, researchers also found that Epigallocatechin-3-gallate has a profound and positive effect in improved the efficacy of miR-1 in induced cell apoptosis and proliferation observed in cancer cell lines MG-63 and U-2OS.

More importantly, MG-63 and U-2OS treated by miR-1 and Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) decreased c-MET expression, which is an indication of cancers development.

Further more, combined application of Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) and c-MET inhibitor (crizotinib) also displayed a significant inhibition of MG-63 and U-2OS cancer cell proliferation.

More interestingly, in the study of the effects of Se-enriched Ziyang green tea, containing chemical compound mannose, rhamnose and fucose in anti tumor activity on human osteosarcoma U-2 OS cells in vitro and in vivo, researchers found that Se-ZYTP at concentration of 25, 50, 100 and 200 μg/ml exetred a significantly inhibition of proliferation of human osteosarcoma U-2 OS cells in a concentration-dependent fashion.

In cancer cell line In U-2 OS cancer induced in BALB/c athymic mice model, Se-ZYTP oral administration at three doses of 100, 200 and 400mg/kg body weight (B.W.) daily for 28 days resulted in tumor regression as compared to model control without causing any serious side effects.

Once again, we illustrated that other chemical compounds found in green tea may also have the potential in suppression of proliferation and induced apoptosis of osteosarcoma.
In deed, the anti osteosarcoma activities of Se-enriched Ziyang green tea may be attributed to the stimulation in increased pro-apoptotic protein Bax expression(upregulated by the tumor suppressor protein p53 in induced apoptosis) and decreased expression levels of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2(regulator proteins that regulate cell death) and NG2(involved cell survival, migration and angiogenesis), some researchers suggested.

Taking altogether, green tea with plenty of phytochemicals in suppression of the development and progression of cancer may be considered as an adjunct therapy in reduced risk and combination with chemo drugs for treatment of osteosarcoma.

All About Green Tea: Green tea, in Prevention and Treatment of Alzheimer's disease

Green tea may an integrated form of treatment for patient with Alzheimer's disease through many mechanisms, a recent study proposed.

Green tea, considered as a functional food, linking numbers of health benefit has been reported by several renowned research and studies. However, as yin in nature herbal medicine ,or food, long term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, induced "yin excessive syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome" including weaken immunity and painful case of GERD,... according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory. But a slice of ginger in the drink will neutralize the yin over expression in green tea.

Alzheimer's disease is a neuro-degenerative condition of loss or decrease of cognitive and memory functions due to aging.
According to the Maternal and Infant Health, ASL NA 3 SUD, epigallocatechin and gallic acid, (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate (EGCG), found in green tea exerted a strong anti-inflammatory and anti oxidative properties in protection against neuronal damage and brain edema.

The study also stated that green tea may also contribute to reduced risk and treatment of AD by ameliorated chronic viral infection, one of the cause in responsible for AD's neuropathology.

Dr. Mandel SA. the lead author and expert in green tea study said, "tea drinking may decrease the incidence of dementia, AD, and PD. In particular, its main catechin polyphenol constituent (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been shown to exert neuroprotective/neurorescue activities in a wide array of cellular and animal models of neurological disorders".

Other researchers suggested that the efficacy of epigallocatechin and gallic acid, (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate (EGCG) in reduced risk of AD may be attributed to
1. The antioxidant activity in ameliorate production of ROS in induced risk of oxidative stress which has been found to associate to production of lipid peroxidation, leading to abnormal deposition of amyloid β (Aβ) peptide

2. Free radical over expression in aging people also vulnerable to imbalance of antioxidant and ROS
may have a negatively direct interaction with proteins, nucleic acids, and other molecules and may also alter their structures and functions in inducing risk AD.

Indeed, as a single ingredient isolated from green tea, epigallocatechin and gallic acid, (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate (EGCG) have been found to cause toxicity in some cases in medical literature. Therefore taking the ingredient in long term and overdoses may have a implication of liver damage.

In a animal study to evaluate the efficacy of Caffeic acid in AD, mice rats randomly divided into three groups: i) control group, ii) AD model group and iii) caffeic acid group, mice fed with the phytochemical expressed a significant in increased learning deficit and cognitive function demonstrated by the Morris water maze task in compared control.

Additionally, fed mice also displayed of attenuated oxidative stress, inflammation, nuclear factor‑κB‑p65 protein expression involved inflammatory cytokins production and suppressed caspase‑3 activity induced cell death and other mechanisms in the rats with AD.

Interestingly, inflammatory process has shown to have an negative role in increased risk of AD, by causing neuroinflammation, including brain cells such as microglia and astrocytes and subsequently in promoted dysfunction and neuronal death. Therefore by suppressing production of inflammatory cytokins, caffeic acid expressed a significant reduction of AD risk.

The efficacy in contribution of cognitive improvement following caffeic acid application may be due to its antioxidant activity and restoration of cholinergic functions, as deficiency of cholinergic function has shown to effect cognition, behavior and activities of daily living

Taking altogether, there is no doubt that green process a neuro protective against the risk and progression of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) attributed to some of the major chemical constituents. But intake of single ingredient isolated from green tea should be taken with care.

All About Green Tea: Green Tea Hepatoptotective Activity

Please note that this article does not embrace the use of single and multi ingredients extracted from green tea, particularly in the overdose state.

Green tea may have a potentially hepoprotective effect in prevention and treatment of liver disease, renowned institutes postulated.

Liver disease is a reduced function in toxin elimination of liver as a result of damage or injure, causing by medication, viral infection,....

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world.

According to the joint study lead by theZhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University Guangzhou, in the review of the data base of PubMed, CNKI, Wanfang and Weipu databases, regular green tea drinking is associated to a significant reduction in the risk of liver disease, including hepatocellular carcinoma, liver steatosis, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and chronic liver disease.

Also, Green tea demonstrated a reduced risk of liver disease regardless of the race and geography of the patients resided such as Asian, American and European subgroups.
Unfortunately, in a mouse model, different doses of GT fractions and EGCG and a single dose of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) combined with EGCG, administered for 5 days to mice suggested that mice fed with combining a single high dose of EGCG with a single dose of LPS showed to induce liver injury.

Repeat injection of EGCG in the group also found to associate to mild liver injure, probably was attributed to the adverse effect of lipopolysaccharide (LPS), the study insisted.

Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) is one of the major and powerful antioxidant of green tea found to be most effective cancer chemopreventive polyphenol in many studies posted on medical literature. However, the single ingredients extract has also been found to induce hepotoxocity and acute liver dysfunction in many occasions due to overdoses and long term usages.

Additionally, according to the Baylor College of Medicine and Dalhousie University, Halifax reported, "(There is) a case of acute impending liver failure in an adolescent male using a weight-loss product containing green tea extract" and "acute liver toxicity observed in individuals consuming supplements containing green tea extract".

Taking altogether, the conflict result of green tea in liver disease may be result of study design, group selection, sample size, doses intake,........People with liver disease should talk to a specialist of herbal products before consuming.

All About Green Tea: Green Tea and the Risk of Renal Disease

Green tea showed to inhibited or exhibited kidney function in toxin elimination in deteriorated renal function in patient with chronic renal disease, studies proposed.

Renal Disease is an impaired function in toxin elimination for more than a specific time as a result of kidney damage or injure.

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world. Adding a slice of ginger will be helpful to solve the problem.

In mice fed with a powdered diet containing green tea polyphenolic extract (0.1%) starting 3 days prior to CsA treatment (25 mg/kg, i.g. daily for 3 weeks).showed a decreased renal nuclear DNA-encoded oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) protein ATP synthase-β (AS-β)by 42%, mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)-encoded OXPHOS protein NADH dehydrogenase-3 (ND3) involved oxidize nutrients for energy conversion by 87%.

Flavanols (polyphenols) are rich phytochemicals isolated from green tea, particularly in the expression in form of most bioactive flavanol EGCG.

Oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) protein ATP synthase-β (AS-β) plays a key role in energy production and regulated the generation of free radicals, and apoptosis through respiratory chain.

Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)-encoded OXPHOS protein NADH dehydrogenase-3 (ND3) in reduced risk of gene mutation through oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS).

Dr. Rehman H, the lead author said," Green tea polyphenols markedly attenuated CsA-induced renal injury and improved renal function. Together, these results demonstrate that green tea polyphenols attenuate CsA-induced kidney injury, at least in part, through the stimulation of MB".
In support of the efficacy of green tea for treatment of renal disease, the study of F40 rats randomly divided into 4 groups. Group 1 acted as control; group 2 received contrast medium (intravenous iodixanol, 10 mL/kg, as a single dose); group 3 received contrast medium and then green tea extract for 3 days (10 mg/kg/d, intraperitoneal); and group 4 first received green tea and then contrast medium, researchers showed that group treated with green tea had significantly higher overall scores than the control group.

Treatment group also expressed a significant improvement in progression of renal degeneration caused by nephrotoxicity of contrast media.

Unfortunately, according to the joint study lead by the China Medical University, inhibited the elimination of indoxyl sulfate (IS) and p-cresyl sulfate (PCS), a highly protein-bound nephro-cardiovascular toxins in CRF rats.

Catechin, is another major chemical constituent isolated from Green tea (GT) and a popular beverage in China.

Indoxyl sulfate(IS), a circulating uremic toxin has found to associate to the development of glomerular sclerosis and interstitial fibrosis.

P-Cresyl sulfate (pCS) is also an uremic toxin generated by intestinal bacteria
which has an implication to worsen outcome of patients with chronic kidney disease and increased cardiovascular burden.

Furthermore, green tea injection of catechin.in experiment mice also showed a significantly increased the levels of serum creatinine (Cr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN), an indication of further kidney damage after ingestion of green tea catechin.

Dr. Peng YH, the lead author said, "GT inhibited the elimination of nephro-cardiovascular toxins such as IS and PCS, and deteriorated the renal function in CRF rats".

Taking together, the conflict results of green tea in expression of chronic renal disease may be due to study design, the group sample, the subject selection doses administration,........., therefore patients with renal disease should be consult with specialists before taking.

All About Green Tea: Green Tea for Prevention and Treatment of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Green tea may be considered as a functional food in lower risk and treatment for patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, a respectable institute opinionated.

Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease is a condition caused by over accumulated of fat in the liver.

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world. Adding a slice of ginger will solve the adversion.

According to the University of Connecticut, Storrs, the efficacy of green tea for treatment of obese patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is associated to polyphenolic catechins in induction of hypolipidemic, thermogenic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities.

These chemical compound have also found to mitigate the occurrence and progression of NAFLD.

Dr. Masterjohn C, the lead author said, "(The phytochemical compounds) demonstrating the hepatoprotective properties of green tea and its catechins and the proposed mechanisms by which these targeted dietary agents protect against NAFLD"

Furthermore, in mice fed on a high-fat diet for 24 weeks., then injected with EGCG (10, 20 and 40 mg·kg(-1)·d(-1), ip), for 4 weeks, researchers found that treated mice showed a significant improvement of high-fat diet in induced the body weight, grade 2 or 3 liver fatty degeneration (steatosis, lobular inflammation and ballooning), severe hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance..

The phytocheimcal EGCG, in dose-dependent also enhanced insulin clearance and upregulated IDE protein expression and enzyme activity in regulated levels of glucose in the liver of treated mice.

In fact EGCG not only promoted weigh loss but also attenuated symptoms of mice with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

Promisingly, in the study of green tea polyphenols (GTP) on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in Zucker fatty (ZF) rats, researches also indicated that, GTP intervention not only decreased weight gain and significantly lowered visceral fat but also reduced fasting serum insulin, glucose and lipids levels, through ameliorated expression of hepatic TG accumulation and cytoplasmic lipid droplet as well as diminished hepatic lipogenesis and triglycerides out flux from liver.

Taking together, green tea has expressed a significant enhancement in reduced risk and treatment of
nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, through many aspects. But large amount intake regularly should be taken with care to prevent toxicity.

All About Green Tea: Green Tea in Reduced Risk and Treatment of Hypertension

Regular drinking of green tea may have a potential effect in maintaining normal blood pressure and reduced risk of hypertension , a recent study suggested.

Hypertension is abnormal high of blood pressure, one of the major risk factor in contributed early onset of cardiovascular disease.

Adding one slice of ginger will do the trick of neutralization.

Hypertension of male Wistar rats induced by the nitric oxide synthase inhibitor [N-nitro-L-arginine-methyl-ester (L-NAME); 20 mg/kg per day, orally, for 2 weeks], fed with green tea extract exhibited a strong effect in reduced hypertension (119 ± 1 mmHg) and higher renal sympathetic nerve activity (161 ± 12 spikes/s) than the control group (97 ± 2 spikes/s).
Green tea oral administration also showed a significant decreased in hypertensive parameter by ameliorated.arterial baroreceptor function and vascular and systemic oxidative stress.

Furthermore, in a total of 20 Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rats at 13 weeks old with matabolic syndrome randomized into a saline treated group (OLETF; n = 10) and a group treated with decaffeinated-GTE (25 mg/kg/day) (GTE-OLETF; n = 10), group fed with decaffeinated-GTE significantly reduced BP (OLETF vs. GTE-OLETF; 130 ± 7 vs. 121 ± 3 mmHg, p = 0.01) in compared control fed with saline.

The study also suggested that fed mice with green tea also showed an anti hypertensive effect in reduced vascular reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation and NADPH in generation of ROS, as well as improving endothelium (cell lines the interior surface of blood vessels and lymphatic vessels)and lymphatic vessels dependent relaxation.

Dr. Ihm SH, the lead author said," (green tea extract) improved endothelial dysfunction and IR, and eventually lowered BP".

Taking together, there is no doubt that green tea processes a significant effect in reduced risk and treatment of hypertension through reduced oxidative stress and improved vascular relaxation as well as decreased metabolic syndrome in exaggerated hypertension.

All About Green Tea: Green Tea in Attenuated Risk of Metabolic Syndrome

Green tea may be served as functional food for reduced risk and treatment of metabolic syndrome, a renowned institute study suggested

Metabolic Syndrome is a group of risk factors used to calculate the incidence of early onset of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world. Adding a slice of ginger will do the trick.

In a total of 35 obese participants with metabolic syndrome randomly assigned to receive one of the following for 8 weeks: green tea (4 cups per day), control (4 cups water per day), or green tea extract (2 capsules and 4 cups water per day), blood samples collected from green tea and green tea extract treated groups showed a significantly increased plasma antioxidant capacity (1.5 to 2.3 μmol/L and 1.2 to 2.5 μmol/L, respectively in compared to control group.

The study also found that the efficacy of green tea in ameliorated early progression of metabolic syndrome is attributed to the improved expression of serum antioxidant enzymes (glutathione peroxidase, glutathione, catalase) and plasma antioxidant capacity in inhibited free radicals in exhibition of pro inflammatory cytokins.

Furthermore, in the total of 55 obese men and women recruited, injection of 280 and 360 g GTRB provided daily totals of 123.2 and 158.4 mg caffeine, and 188.3 and 242.1 mg of epigallocatechin gallate significantly reduced expression of metabolic syndrome in attenuated weigh gain, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose concentrations.

More importantly, the study also found that administration of green tea also reduced levels of blood pressure in obese subjects but can not maintain the weigh loss after study.

Other researchers in the investigation of decaffeinated green tea extract (GTE) and voluntary running exercise (Ex) alone or in combination against obesity and metabolic syndrome in high fat (HF) fed C57BL/6J mice, insisted that combination of green tea injection and exercise treatment reduced final body mass (27.1% decrease) and total visceral fat mass (36.6% decrease), levels of fasting blood glucose (17% decrease), plasma insulin (65% decrease), and insulin resistance (65% decrease) compared to HF-fed mice.

Taking together, green tea may be one of best candidates used for prevention of onset and treatment of metabolic syndrome in adult population, but long term injection of large amount may induced liver and kidney toxicity as shown in previous articles.

All About Green Tea: Green Tea in Attenuated Risk of Hyperglycemia and Early Onset of Type 2 Diabetes

Green with a ton of phytochemicals has been found to process variuos health benefits reported by large numbers of research and study. However, long term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, inducing "yin excessive syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome"according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory. It is recommended to add a slice of ginger in your drink for a purpose of neutralization.

Recently study by renowned institute postulated that regular green tea intake may be associated to reduced risk of developed hyperglycemia in healthy individual and prevented early onset of diabetes in people with hyperglycemia.

According to the Third Military Medical University, regular consumption of green tea or green tea extract improved insulin sensitivity and glycaemic control in populations with diabetics.

In the review of literature found in data base of PUBMED, The Cochrane Library, EMBASE, ISI Web of Knowledge, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and Chinese Scientific Journals Fulltext of 17 trials comprising a total of 1133 subjects suggested that green tea consumption significantly reduced the fasting glucose and hemoglobin A1c (Hb A1c) concentrations by -0.09 mmol/L and -0.30%, respectively.

In the trials with high Jadad score studies, green tea significantly reduced fasting insulin concentrations -1.16 μIU/mL in compared to non green tea drinker group.

Other, in the mice study to evalaute green tea drink (T2 and T3) prepared by adding catechins and epigallocatechin gallate, major constituents isolated from green tea (EGCG) @ 550 mg/500 mL against non drinker group acted as control (T1), mice fed with T2 and T3 expressed a significant reduced cholesterol and LDL levels and serum glucose and insulin levels with no difference in all functional drink groups but control.

Dr. Ahmad RS, the lead author said, "In contrast to lipid profile, experimental drink containing EGCG reduced the trait better than catechins based functional drink".

Furthermore, the compared diabetic effects of 3 selected tea water extracts (TWE) and tea pomace extracts (TPE) and by on rat intestinal α-glucosidase activity in vitro as well as hypoglycemic effects in vivo, insisted that in male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats fed with tea extracts improved levels of blood glucose level at 30 min after oral intake (0.5 g/kg body wt) in compared to the control in sucrose-loaded SD rat, probably through activation of antioxidants properties in free radical scavenging.

Indeed, tea pomace extract in the study exerted a significantly inhibition of intestinal α-glucosidase, in delayed glucose absorption resulting in suppressing postprandial hyperglycemia.

No doubtfully, green tea processed bioactives may be used as potentially nutraceutical products in prevent the risk of hyperglycemia in healthy people and early onset of in people with prediabetes.

All About Green Tea: Green tea in Ameliorated Symptoms Severity and Treatment of Osteoarthritis

Regular drinking of green tea may have a positive effect in reduced symptoms of pain and treatment of osteoarthritis, a study by respectable institute postulated.

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and Western world. But a slice of ginger will neutralize that adverse effects.

Osteoarthritis (OA), a form of arthritis, is a condition characterized by aging progression of wear and tear on a joint, affecting over 25 million people in the United States in alone

In a randomized open-label active-controlled clinical trial of 50 adults with osteoarthritis of knee allocated to receive the green tea extract (in dosage form of tablet) plus diclofenac tablet as "intervention group"; or: diclofenac tablet alone as "control group" for a period of four weeks, combination treated group exerted a significant improvement of physical function in compared to control.

Treatment group also expressed a similar progress in pain reduction during knee joint physical function in adults with osteoarthritis as in control group.

Additionally, in the compared the effect of curcuminoids extract, hydrolyzed collagen and green tea extract, in chondrocytes culture cell, researchers found that combination of all components score a enormous expression of reduced production of pro inflammatory cytokins through various mechanisms, including ameliorated free radical elucidation.

Furthermore, in the support of the above differentiation, the study in the investigation of a posttraumatic osteoarthritis (OA) mouse model tested with EGCG against progression of OA and relieve OA-associated pain, suggested that EGCG-treated mice promoted cartilage production against Safranin O, staining of the knee joint cartilage loss and cartilage erosion in compared to control group with no treatment.
Importantly, cartilage of treated mice also displays a significant reduction of gene in regulated degeneration of connective tissue as well as pathways involved promotional of tissues inflammation.

Moreover, pain score of treated mice also exhibited a significant enhancement in compared control group.

Taking together, there is no doubt that green tea process a therapeutic and integrated form for prevention and treatment of symptoms of pain as well as improved physical activity of OA patients through protection against cartilage degeneration.
