Whole Food Tomatoes prostate (PC3) Protects The Cells of Prostate Gland Against Prostate Cancer, Studies Show

Prostate cancer is a medical condition caused by irregular cell growth in the tissues of the prostate.

The prostate is a male reproductive gland that plays a critical role in the contribution of nutrients and fluid to sperm.

Most cases of prostate cancer start in the cells on the surface in the inner lining of the prostate tissue before penetrating into deeper prostate gland layers to induce metastasis via blood and lymph.

At the early stage, due to the very small size of the tumor, prostate cancer is asymptomatic.

Most common symptoms of the prostate at the later stage are frequent urination, weak or interrupted urine flow due to the tumor that affects the tube surrounded by the prostate.

In some case, patients may experience symptoms of blood in the urine and pain due to the oversize tumor that has pressed on the nearby blood vessels and nerve cells.

The new onset of erectile dysfunction is also common in patients with prostate cancer.

The causes of prostate cancer are not identified. However, the increase in aging is one of the most common risk factors as most cases of the condition are diagnosed in older adults. Approximately, 60% of all cases are diagnosed in men over 65.c

According to the statistics, in 2017, 21,300 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and the disease cause the death of 4,100 men in the same year.

The 5-year survival rate for most men with local or regional prostate cancer is nearly 100% compared to only 30% in patients diagnosed with prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body,

Some researchers in the concern that the risk of prostate cancer in the younger population suggested that the promotion of a high-fat diet over the past few decades may be correlated to the rise of the disease.

Dr. Colleen Pelser, the lead scientist wrote, "Total fat and mono- and polyunsaturated fat INTAKES were not associated with the incidence of prostate cancer. Saturated fat intake was related to increased risk of advanced prostate cancer (HRQuintile 5 vs. Quintile 1 (Q1 vs. Q5)1.21; 95% CI 1.00–1.46; p-for-trend=0.03) and fatal prostate cancer".

And. "Our study suggests that the associations of fat and fatty acids differ by prostate cancer severity. Saturated fat, ALA and EPA intakes were related to the risk of advanced or fatal prostate cancer, but not to non-advanced prostate cancer".

The results strongly suggested that if you are a high-fat diet follower, your risk of prostate cancer is increased substantially compared to a traditional diet.

Tomato is red, edible fruit, genus Solanum, belongings to family Solanaceae, native to South America. Because of its health benefits, the tomato is grown worldwide for the commercial purpose
and often in the greenhouse.

In the urgency to find a natural compound for the treatment of prostate cancer, researchers investigated the effects of lycopene-rich tomato on prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in prostate cancer patients.

The study included 79 patients with prostate cancer randomized to a nutritional intervention with either 1) tomato products containing 30 mg lycopene per day; 2) tomato products plus selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, soy isoflavones, grape/pomegranate juice, and green/black tea (tomato-plus); or 3) control diet for 3 weeks.

According to the results of the tested, the tomato group showed a significant PSA decrease compared to controls.

Compared to other groups, median PSA-values decreased by 1% in patients with the highest increases in plasma lycopene, selenium, and C20:5 n-3 fatty acid, compared to an 8.5% increase in the patients with the lowest increase in lycopene, selenium, and C20:5 n-3 fatty acid.

In other words, PSA decreased the most in patients with the highest increase in lycopene alone.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "Three-week nutritional interventions with tomato-products alone or in combination with selenium and n-3 fatty acids lower PSA in patients with non-metastatic prostate cancer".

Moreover, in the investigation of the association between tomato consumption and prostate cancer risk, researchers at Zhejiang University performed a meta-analysis to comprehensively evaluate this relationship.

Geographically, tomato intake showed significant protective effects in patients with Asian origin and Oceania populations compared to other regions.

According to the total of 24 published studies with 15,099 cases, tomato intake was associated with a reduced risk of prostate cancer with the RRs of 0.76 found in the case-control and cohort studies.

Taken altogether, tomatoes may be considered supplements for the prevention and treatment of prostate cancer, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of lycopene in the form of supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Green tea and Its Bioactive Polyphenols in Ameliorated Risk Human Immunodeficiency Virus -1 (HIV-1) Infection

Green and black tea may have a therapeutic and positive effect in reduced risk of HIV 1 infection, some scientists suggested.

Green tea, a precious drink processes numbers of health benefit known to almost everyone in Asia and the Western world. However, as yin in nature herbal medicine or food, long term injection of large amounts may obstruct the balance of yin-yang, induced "yin excessive syndrome" or "yang vacuity syndrome" including weaken immunity and painful case of GERD,... according to traditional Chinese medicine's Yin-Yang theory.

Human immunodeficiency virus -1 (HIV-1) is one of 2 types of HIV precipitated of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), transmitted through direct contact with HIV-infected body fluids, including blood, semen, and genital secretions,...

According to statistic, approximately 36.7 million people worldwide living with HIV/AIDS in 2016, including, 2.1 million children less than 15 years of age.

According to the investigation of Theaflavins, the major components of tea polyphenols extracted from brewed black tea and green tea inhibited HIV-1 entry by targeting gp41 which is a transmembrane protein with function in embedded with an outer coat of HIV to enter and infected host cells.

However, due to the unstable and purified of the individual theaflavins, natural preparation containing 90% of theaflavins (TFmix) in the most study was used to experiment of its effect against HIV-1 microbicide for preventing HIV sexual transmission.

In vitro using p24 production and luciferase assays, TFmix exhibited potent anti-HIV-1 activity on lab-adapted and primary HIV-1 strains with IC(50), the concentration of an application that gives half-maximal response in dose of less than 1.20 μM, through targeting the gp41 in inhibited virus-host membrane fusion during infection mediated by the formation of six-helix bundle (6HB).

In other words, theaflavins administration was found to initiate potent anti-HIV-1 activity by targeting the viral entry step through the disruption of gp41 6-HB core structure,

Furthermore, application of theaflavins (TFmix) also inhibited reverse transcriptase (RT) activity, an RNA-dependent DNA, which is the process in replication of RNA from a DNA template through polymerase (DNAP) enzyme in forming new copies of DNA, in the form of nucleic acid molecules, with the IC(50) about 8-fold higher of theaflavins (TFmix) concentration than that for inhibiting gp41 6-HB formation.

In peptide fragments, derived from prostatic acidic phosphatase secreted in large amounts into human semen to form amyloid fibrils plaques with function to induced viral infection (SEVI), through capturing the HIV virions and direct them to target cells into liver cell to initiated entry step, during sexual activity, injection of green tea epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) inhibited the expression of SEVI and revoked semen in mediated enhancement of HIV-1 infection through precipitated viral degradation without induced healthy cell toxicity.

Further analysis of green tea EGCG activity using HIV-1 infectivity on human CD4+ T cells, at a physiologic concentration of 6μM, EGCG significantly inhibited HIV-1 p24 antigen production in the expression of acute infection in both HIV-1 clinical isolates and laboratory-adapted subtypes B C, D, and G.

Particularly, EGCG-induced inhibition of HV-1 infectivity was not due to cytotoxicity, cell growth inhibition, nor apoptosis but blocking the HIV activity in the attachment of HIV-1-gp120, a glycoprotein exposed on the surface of the HIV envelope to the CD4 molecule in the entry point in initiated infectivity.Dr. Christina L., the lead author concluded, "(by) preventing the attachment of HIV-1-gp120 to the CD4 molecule, EGCG inhibits HIV-1 infectivity. As this inhibition can be achieved at physiologic concentrations, the natural anti-HIV agent, EGCG, is a candidate as an alternative therapy in HIV-1 therapy".

The information findings suggested that green tea with abundant bioactive polyphenols Theaflavins including epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) may be considered as a functional food to the ameliorated risk of HIV 1 infection by blocking the complex process in initiation.

Healthy Food Navy Bean Promotes Colon Health through Modulating Microbiome Metabolism

The colon formed part of the digestive system plays a critical role to absorb water from the small bowel contents and break down of certain materials in the feces into substances of which some of them to be reabsorbed and reused by the body.

Colon health is the process to enhance the function of the colon through many mechanisms, particularly, in the improvement of the ratio of gut microbiota.

Gut microbiota is a community of bacteria found in the gut. In a healthy individual, the ratio of good and bad bacterias are balanced. However, if the bad bacteria are overgrowing compared to good bacteria, it may lead to dysbiosis which has been found to induce chronic diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, cancer, and autism.

Most common risk factors associated with the imbalanced ratio of gut microbiota include the use of antibiotics, illness, stress, aging, bad dietary habits, and lifestyle.

In other words, if you follow a healthy diet with a high in vegetables and fruits and fewer in processed foods, saturated and trans fat and red meat accompanied by moderate exercise, you may have done a job to protect the balance of gut microbiota.
The impact of gut microbes can also have a strong influence on what the human host is able to extract from its diet, both nutritionally and energetically.

Epidemiological studies suggested overweight and obese people show a dysbiosis characterized by a lower diversity. Imbalanced gut microbiota dysbiosis promotes diet-induced obesity and metabolic complications.

Some researchers suggested that we can optimize our colon health by manipulating the gut microbiota through diet by increasing the intake fiber, prebiotic and probiotic foods.

Dr. Hall A, the lead scientist in the study of microbial metabolism in the mammalian gut, wrote, "Microbial dysbiosis, however, has been implicated in a number of human disorders, including obesity and inflammation. This dichotomy highlights the need to understand the factors that determine the composition and metabolic output of our resident and transient microbes".

And, " Throughout the human lifespan, we know that diet plays a major role in shaping gut microbial communities, as well as directing the types and amounts of metabolites produced. Understanding the factors that affect microbial metabolic output within the host may help identify the roles of microbes in health, as well as new targets for treatment in disease".

The small, white navy bean, also called pea bean or haricot, popular in both dry and green forms, is very popular in Britain and the US, native to Peru. It is now grown and consumed across the world, due to their numerous health benefits.

On finding a natural compound for the improvement of colon health, researchers evaluated the effect of navy beans in the modulation of the host-microbiome metabolism.

The 4-week, randomized controlled trial with overweight and obese CRC survivors involved consumption of 1 meal and 1 snack daily, containing 35 g of cooked navy bean or macronutrient matched meals and snacks with 0 g of navy beans for the control group (n = 18).

According to the assessment of the impact on the human stool metabolome, which includes the presence of navy bean metabolites, * 26 significantly different metabolites were found at day 28 in navy bean group compared to the participants' baseline (p ≤ 0.05) and to the control group.
* Additionally, of the 560 total metabolites identified from the cooked navy beans, there were 237 possible navy bean-derived metabolites identified in the stool of participants consuming navy beans.

* Most importantly, the stool relative abundance of ophthalmic increased 5.25-fold for navy bean consumers strongly suggested that navy bean in the glutathione regulation and cancer control were attributed to detoxification of xenobiotics, antioxidant defense, proliferation, and apoptosis.

More precisely, navy-bean protects the colon cells integrity by exciting detoxed, antioxidant, anti-proliferation, and anti-apoptotic activity.

Based on the findings, researchers said, "These metabolites and metabolic pathways represent an acute response to increased navy bean intake, which merits further investigation for improving colonic health after long-term consumption".

Taken altogether, navy-bean may be considered a remedy for the improvement of colon health, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Green Tea and Its' Polyphenols (GTPs) in Attenuated Risk, Progression and Treatment of Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is a medical condition characterized by irregular cell growth in the tissues of the skin. At the later stage, the cancerous cell may travel a distance away to invade other healthy tissues and organs.

According to statistic, approximately, 87,110 new cases of invasive melanoma are diagnosed in the U.S every year

The evaluation of green tea effect in overexposure to environmental solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation (290-400 nm) which has been found to increase risk of the development of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers in mice model showed that oral administration of green tea polyphenols (GTPs) in drinking water or the topical application of EGCG prevents UVB-induced skin tumor development in tested subjects.

Particularly, (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), the major and most photoprotective polyphenolic component of green tea also exhibited a protective activity against UV in induction of skin cancer, through induction of immunoregulatory cytokine interleukin (IL) 12 in differentiation of naive T cells into Th1 cells and acted as T cell-stimulating factor in stimulate the growth and function of T cells.

Moreover, interleukin (IL) 12 also demonstrated a significant effect as an antagonist against immunosuppression induced by solar/ultraviolet (UV) radiation by restoring immune responses and also stimulating DNA repair.

Further analysis also indicated that green tea (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) also inhibited UV in the induction of skin tumors; angiogenetic effect in stimulated production of new blood vessels to
provide nutrients and oxygen for cancer cells proliferation and survivals and initiated cytotoxic T lymphocyte cells in induced cancer and infectious and damage cells apoptosis.

Interestingly, additional study of green tea polyphenols (GTPs) in prevention of UVB irradiated (80 mJ/cm(2)) 3 times each week for 24 wk in induced skin cancer in mice divided in to group consumed water and group fed with water containing 2 g/L GTPs, showed that group treated with GTPs displayed a significant reduced UVB-induced tumor incidence by 35%, tumor multiplicity by 63%, and tumor growth by 55% in compared to non treatment group.

Group treated with GTPs+UVB also demonstrated a reduced expression of the matrix metalloproteinases (MMP)-2 and MMP-9, which are activator associated with progression from benign to advanced cancer and enhanced expression of specific endogenous tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs), tissues inhibitor of MMP in skin tumors in compared to mice treated with UVB alone.

Furthermore, GTPs+UVB group also reduced expressions of CD31 and vascular endothelial growth factor, in the activated development of new blood vessel to nourish skin tumor cells proliferation and site expansion and inhibited expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen, a key factor in DNA replication and cell cycle regulation in skin cancer in compared to UVB group.

More importantly, mice treated with GTPs+UVB group also showed more cytotoxic CD8(+) T cells in the tumors compared to UVB group by exhibited greater activation of caspase-3 expression in induced apoptosis of the tumor cells.

The information findings suggested a potential and therapeutic effect of green tea and its bioactive polyphenols (GTPs) in attenuated risk, progression, and treatment of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.

Bromelain Protects the Cardiac Muscle in Blood Circulation

Cardiac muscle or heart muscle or myocardium is a type of muscle that helps the heart to pump blood to nourish the entire body by performing the coordinated contractions.

Damage of heart muscle can lead to cardiomyopathy, or heart muscle disease, leading to abnormally heart enlarged, thickened, and/or stiffened.

In other words, cardiomyopathy reduced the heart muscle ability to pump blood, causing heart failure and the backup of blood into the lungs or the rest of the body.

Most common types of cardiomyopathy are
* Dilated cardiomyopathy is a condition caused by the enlarged and weakened the left ventricle.

* Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a result of the thickening of the heart muscle, at the septum between the ventricles, below the aortic valve.

* Ischemic cardiomyopathy is the condition caused by narrow arteries that affect the supply blood to the heart muscle.

* Restrictive cardiomyopathy is a condition that the walls of the lower chambers of the ventricles are too rigid to expand

Most common symptoms of cardiomyopathy are associated with reduce blood flow due to reduced function of heart muscle including general weakness and fatigue, shortness of breath, particularly during exertion or exercise, lightheadedness, and dizziness, chest pain, heart palpitations, fainting attacks, high blood pressure, edema, or swelling, of your feet, ankles, and legs.

If you have experienced some of the aforementioned symptoms, please check with your doctor to rule out the possibility of cardiomyopathy.

Out of many factors associated with the risk of cardiomyopathy, some researchers suggested that long-term alcoholism may be the major culprit.

Dr. B. Maisch wrote, " Moderate drinking can reduce the incidence and mortality of coronary artery disease, heart failure, diabetes, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke".

However, "More than this amount can lead to alcoholic cardiomyopathy, which is defined as alcohol toxicity to the heart muscle itself by ethanol and its metabolites".

Bromelain, a proteolytic enzyme found in pineapples (Ananas comosus) has been used in traditional medicine as an inflammatory agent and to treat pains, strains, and muscle aches and pains and ease back pain and chronic joint pain, skin diseases, etc.

With an aim to find a potential ingredient for the improvement of cardiovascular circulation, researchers examined the effect of bromelain on ischemia/reperfusion (IR) injury is characterized by the production of oxygen-free radicals leading to disturbances in vasomotility (microvascular constriction) and microvascular permeability (interstitial edema formation).

The study included a rabbit hindlimb model of I/R (2.5/2 h) were given Phlogenzym, containing rutin, trypsin, and bromelain enterally (60 mg/kg body weight) 30 min prior to ischemia (Ph group).

Before treatment with Phlogenzym, two hours after reperfusion, potassium levels were significantly elevated in IR compared to the Ph group.

Application of Phlogenzym inhibited the enhanced lipid peroxidation, apparent by increased plasma malondialdehyde levels in the Ph group, particularly, in the reduction of blood flow.

Furthermore, Phlogenzym treatment also prevented microvascular constriction and mollified interstitial edema

In other words, Phlogenzym protects the cardiac muscle in blood circulation against damage caused by ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury.

Based on the findings, researchers wrote, "Phlogenzym had a protective effect on skeletal muscle during I/R injury expressed by prevention of no-reflow and preservation of muscle tissue".

Taken altogether, bromelain used alone or combined with conventional medicine may be considered a remedy for the protection of heart muscle, pending to the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of bromelain in the form of supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Antioxidants Alliin Inhibits Disease Associated with Chronic Inflammation

Inflammation is a natural defense of the immune system that protects the body against the invasion of harmful stimuli and pathogens.

In the acute phase of infection, the immune first line of defense white blood cells, macrophages stimulates the production of proinflammatory cytokines with an aim to destroy all invaders which try to enter the body.

Most cases of acute infection are stopped at this phase and the wound is healed itself quickly.

However, if the wound is too large, then the recovery may take a longer period of time and through 4 overlap recovery stages.

Any interruption in the overlapped recover stage may cause the formation of scars, similar to those of overproduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Diseases associated with chronic inflammation induced by protein, lipid and cellular damage include cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative disease,... and cancers.

In other words, prolonged low-grade inflammation caused by continuing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines due to an immune response that can not kill off all invaders in a set period between 3-8 weeks can result in serious and chronic diseases.

The results have been found to cause cell death and alternation of cell DNA.

Believe it or not people with low-grade chronic inflammation are prone to psychological stress that links to greater risk for depression, heart disease. particularly the body ability to regulate the inflammatory response and normal defense.

Out of many risk factors involved the onset of chronic inflammatory diseases, some researchers suggested the promotion of a high-fat diet in the Western world may correlate to the rise of the condition.

Dr. Yehui Duan, the lead scientist wrote, "In recent years, chronic overnutrition, such as consumption of a high-fat diet (HFD), has been increasingly viewed as a significant modifiable risk factor for diseases such as diabetes and certain types of cancer".

And, "the recent scientific literature about HFD-induced inflammation and subsequent development of diseases and cancer, with an emphasis on mechanisms involved. Given the expanding global epidemic of excessive HFD intake, understanding the impacts of an HFD on these medical conditions, gaining great insights into possible underlying mechanisms, and developing effective therapeutic strategies are of great importance".

Alliin (S-allyl-L-cysteine-S-oxide) is a phytochemical compound sulfoxide,. a derivative of the amino acid cysteine, belonging to the class of sulfur compounds, found abundantly in fresh garlic and onion.

In the urgency to find a natural and potential compound for the treatment of diseases associated with inflammation, researchers examined the active component is alliin (S-allyl cysteine sulfoxide) anti-inflammatory activity.

Before incubated with alliin, lipopolysaccharide- (LPS-) stimulated 3T3-L1 adipocytes showed a significant increase in proteins involved in the production pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-6, MCP-1, and Egr-1 in 3T3-L1 adipocytes exposed to 100 ng/mL LPS for 1 hour.

According to the tested assay in lipopolysaccharide- (LPS-) stimulated 3T3-L1 adipocytes incubated for 24 h with 100 μmol/L alliin, the bioactive compound inhibited such increase.

Furthermore, the overexpression of the phosphorylation of ERK1/2 associated with cell differentiation including cell death caused by LPS-induced inflammation in adipocytes was also decreased following alliin treatment.

Additionally, alliin prevented the expression of inflammation in facilitating the alternation of cell DNA by modulating the gene expressions involved in immune response such as tumor suppressive gene and inhibiting the genes related to cancer.

Dr. Saray Quintero-Fabián, the lead scientist wrote, " The present results have shown that alliin is able to suppress the LPS inflammatory signals by generating an anti-inflammatory gene expression profile and by modifying adipocyte metabolic profile".

Taken altogether, alliin may be considered supplements for the prevention and treatment of diseases associated with inflammation, depending on the confirmation of the larger sample size and multicenter human study.

Intake of alliin in the form of supplement should be taken with extreme care to prevent overdose acute liver toxicity.

Cardiac fibrosis is an uncommon condition of abnormal thickening of the heart valves caused by the inappropriate proliferation of cardiac fibroblasts but commonly, it is the excess deposition of molecules outside a cell or cells with structural and biochemical support to the surrounding cells in the cardiac muscle, leading to cardiac dysfunction and eventually heart failure.

The study of rat cardiac fibroblasts caused by injected by angiotensin ii (AngII) also revealed that green tea inhibited the abnormal increase in level of connective tissue growth factor CTGF by decreased expression of the nuclear translocation of NF-κB p65 subunit and degradation of IκB-α in induced promotion of fibroblast proliferation and extracellular matrix (ECM) accumulation, thereby exacerbating cardiac hypertrophy and subsequent failure were attributed to bioactive polyphenol EGCG expression is significantly reduced collagen synthesis, fibronectin (FN) expression, and cell proliferation.

Indeed, due to the activity of CTGF as a matricellular protein modulating the fibrotic process in cardiac remodeling, some researchers suggested that the growth factor may be considered as a biomarker for cardiac fibrosis for therapeutic intervention to mitigate fibrosis in the heart.

Interestingly, in the evaluated the effect of GABA tea, containing a high level of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in cardiac function with male Wistar rats injected with 55 mg/kg streptozotocin (STZ) to induce diabetes for 2 weeks and then orally given dosages of 4.55 and 45.5 mg/kg/day GABA tea extract for 6 weeks, researchers revealed that rats treated with injection of GABA tea not only induces fasting blood glucose levels returned to normal levels but also inhibits cardiac fibrosis in compared to untreated group.

Further experiments also showed that GABA tea in ameliorated cardiac deposit risk was attributed to inhibited the protein levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), Fas and activated caspase-8 and caspase-3 induced in STZ rats in mediated cardiomyocyte apoptosis which has been found in elevation in patient with cardiac dysfunction such as cardiac fibrosis and an indication of chronic hemodynamic overloading and early cardiac decompensation.

Dr. Cherng SH, the lead authors suggested," (GABA tea reduced)cardiac fibrosis (expression) in diabetic rats may be mediated by reducing blood glucose and further attenuating TNF-alpha expression and/or Fas/Fas ligand (FasL)-mediated apoptosis".

Unfortunately, the injection of bioactive polyphenols (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) in high dose was found to induce the opposite effect by increasing cardiac fibroids.

According to the study of green tea bioactive polyphenols (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) in risk of cardiac fibroids induction of myocardial-toxicity in animal model, at the the joint study lead by the Guangzhou Medical University, injection of EGCG 500 and 1000 mg/kg demonstrated a significant effect in initiated cardiac collagen synthesis involved in the formation of filtration systems, through cells differentiation in connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) mRNA expression and protein produced by fibroblasts.

Furthermore, the application of green tea extract also displayed an exhibited fibrosis-related protein expression in the induction of cardiac fibroids deposit through stimulating the function of fibronectin (FN), a ubiquitous extracellular matrix (ECM) glycoprotein circulated in the blood to initiated heart muscle repair.

After taking into account of other con confounders, Dr. Cai Y, the lead scientist said, "high oral doses of EGCG could induce cardiac fibrosis, and shed new light on the understanding of EGCG-mediated myocardiotoxicity".

The information findings suggested that green tea with bioactive polyphenols EGCG at a lower dose may be used as functional food in reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases caused by cardiac fibroids. Intake of green tea supplement EGCG must be taken with care as overdoses-toxicity has been reported in some cases.
