Yield: 2 servings (about 8 ounces each)
1 1/2 cup grapes
1 tsp curcumin
1/2 cup peppermint herbal tea

1. Place all ingredients in a blender and puree about 1 minute
2. Blend on high speed about 1 minute or until the mixture is thick and the ice is well crushed.
3. Serve immediately

The finding the natural ingredient for prevention and treatment of Toxic Hepatitis to replace the medication from conventional has been facing many obstacles. Many initially potentially therapeutic values working in animal studies does not produce the same effectiveness in human trials.

Recent studies suggested that grape(1) and turmeric(4) and peppermint(7) may have a potential effect on treatment of patient with Toxic Hepatitis .

Resveratrol is a phytochemical in the class of Stilbenoids, found abundantly in grape and blueberry associated to reduce risk and treatment of Toxic Hepatitis, according to the University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS(1).In animal study, resveratrol effectively attenuated α-Naphthylisothiocyanate (ANIT) iinduced acute cholestasis and liver injury, through suppression of neutrophil infiltration induced by inflammation, as well as upregulation of expression of hepatic transporters and enzymes(2).
In acetaminophen-induced toxic liver, treatment with RES significantly induced SIRT1 (cell regulation)and then negatively regulated p53, antigne signaling to induce cell proliferation-associated proteins(3).

Turmeric is a perennial plant in the genus Curcuma, belongings to the family Zingiberaceae, native to tropical South Asia. Its antioxidant, curcumin exhibited liver protective effects(4)(5) through attenuated proinflammatory cytokines(5) and improved antioxidant enzymes status(4).
In rat study, RES exhibited anti D-GalN/LPS-induced liver damage by by the enhancing antioxidant defense system, attenuating mitochondrial dysfunction and inhibiting apoptosis, the joint study lead by the Nanjing Agricultural University suggested(6).

Silymarin, a phytochemical in the class of phenolic acids, found abundantly in peppermint exhibited hepatoprotective effect against antituberculosis drug-induced liver injury, through promotion of superoxide dismutase restoration(8).
In isonicotinylhydrazine-induced hepatotoxicity in rabbit model, combined isoniazid and silymarin significantly improved serum billirubin and serum alanine transaminase(9).

Dr. Gillessen A and colleagues said, "Silymarin is a safe and efficacious treatment option for patients with elevated liver enzymes. A benefit in terms of liver-related symptoms as well as quality of life and performance was demonstrated already after 2 months of treatment."(10).

The effectiveness of Grape, Curcumin and Peppermint Tea may serve as cornerstones of pharmaceutical target for further studies in production of a potential medication for reduced risk, complications and treatment of Toxic Hepatitis with little or no adverse effects.

People who are at high risk of Toxic Hepatitis due to medication, environment factors, .... should drink at least one serving daily and women with Toxic Hepatitis should drink the smoothie as much as they can, depending to digestive toleration.

Life style and dietary pattern(reduced intake of  bad cholesterol)change are recommended.
