Yield: 2 servings (about 8 ounces each)
3/4 cup tomatoes
3/4 cup grape
1 cup green tea drink (Make from 4 grams of green tea and a cup of hot water lipped for 5 minutes, and let cool to room temperature)

1. Place all ingredients in a blender and puree about 1 minute
2. Blend on high speed about 1 minute or until the mixture is thick and the ice is well crushed.
3. Serve immediately

The finding of a natural source for treatment of melanoma has been running into many obstacles, many ingredients showed initially with promising result in animal studies have not produced same potentials in either large sample size and mutli centers human trials.

Skin cancer is a medical condition of uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cells and often detected at an early stage. Melanoma is a kind of skin cancer but less common to other skin cancer as a result of malignancy of melanocytes, which are the cell produced dark pigment for the skin.

According to the joint study lead by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, polyphenols from green tea inhibited the gene expression of protein HDAC in induction of DNA damage, in melanoma cell lines (A375, Hs294t, SK-Mel28 and SK-Mel119) through cell cycle arrest(1).

Another phytochemical, catechins also has the ability to inhibit melanoma cell invasion/migration, an essential step of metastasis, by targeting the endogenous expression of induced cell migration(2).
The joint study lead by the National Taiwan Ocean University also support the notion of green tea intake and reduced risk of melanoma, attached EGCG to nanogold particles (EGCG-pNG) in various ratios showed improved anti-cancer efficacy in B16F10 murine melanoma cells(3).

Tomato is a red, edible fruit, genus Solanum, belongings to family Solanaceae, native to South America. Because of its health benefits, tomato is grown world wide for commercial purpose
and often in green house. Its phytochemical lycopene, have demonstrated clear anticancer effects toward melanoma(4).
DR. Wu WB and colleagues at the Fu-Jen Catholic University said, " Lycopene, a natural carotenoid that is abundant in tomato,..... compromised melanoma-induced fibroblast migration and attenuated signalling transduction in fibroblasts simulated by melanoma-derived conditioned medium,... by acting as an inhibitor on stromal cells, tumour cells and their interactions, which may contribute to its anti-tumour activity.(5).
Furthermore, according to the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Diets consisting of foods rich in vitamin D and carotenoids and low in alcohol may lower the risk of melanoma(6).

Grape is a woody vines of the genus Vitis, belongings to the family Vitaceae, native to southern Turkey. Its phytochemical resveratrol, may consist an antioxidant effect in reduced melanoma risk(7).
According to the Duke University Medical Center, Durham, resveratrol (RESV) showed promise as a novel therapeutic in the management of melanoma through its cytotoxicity effect(8).
The combination of natural compounds ursolic acid (UA) and resveratrol (RES), according to the The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, also synergistically reduces the viability of B16F10 and A375 melanoma cells, through inhibition of autophagy(9).

The combination of Green tea, Tomato and Grape smoothie may hold a key to reduce risk for people who are at higher risk of  melanoma as well as for treatment of patient who have already developed the disease. People with  melanoma in any stage should drink as much as they can, depending to the digestive toleration..
