Obesity is a medical condition of excess body fat accumulated overtime, while overweight is a condition of excess body weight relatively to the height. According to the Body Mass Index(BMI), a BMI between 25 to 29.9 is considered over weight, while a BMI of over 30 is an indication of obesity. According to the statistic, 68% of American population are either overweight or obese.

You can calculate your BMI index BMI= weight (kg)/ height (m2)

The Studies of Body mass index-associated differences in response to ovulation induction with letrozole

In the study to o compare occurrence of pregnancy among obese (body mass index [BMI] ≥30) and nonobese (BMI <30), infertile women undergoing ovulationinduction with the aromatase inhibitor letrozole followed by intrauterine insemination (IUI), posted in PubMed, showed that 90 women underwent 180 letrozole-IUI cycles. Conception of pregnancy occurred in 10.4% and 18.2% of the BMI <30 and BMI ≥30 groups, respectively. Using BMI as a continuous variable showed a pregnancy odds ratio of 1.093 (confidence interval 1.008-1.184) for each unit increase in BMI. Incidence of miscarriage, multiple births, number of mature follicles, and presence of LH surge were similar between groups.
