The Smoothie of Alfalfa Sprouts, curcumin and Green Tea for Prevention and Treatment of Cervical Dysplasia

The smoothie for prevention and treatment of Cervical Dysplasia 
Yield: 2 servings (about 8 ounces each)
1 1/2 cup sweet potato
1 tsp curcumin
1 cup green tea drink (Make from 4 grams of green tea, a slice of ginger and a cup of hot water lipped for 5 minutes, and let cool to room temperature)

1. Place all ingredients in a blender and puree about 1 minute
2. Blend on high speed about 1 minute or until the mixture is thick and the ice is well crushed.
3. Serve immediately

The finding of a natural source for treatment of Cervical Dysplasia ) has been running into many obstacles, many ingredients showed initially with promising result in animal studies have not produced same potentials in large sample size and mutli centers human trials.

Cervical Dysplasia is an early stage of cervical cancer as the result of irregular cell growth occurred on the surface lining of the cervix or endocervical canal, the opening between the uterus and the vagina. Epidemiological and preclinical evidence suggests that polyphenolic phytochemicals,  epigallocatechin gallate, curcumin from curry from tea possess cancer chemopreventive properties(3).

Green tea contains more amount of antioxidants than any drinks or food with the same volume, and is the leaves of Camellia sinensis, undergone minimal oxidation during processing, originated from China. Its polyphenon E, an green tea extract (containing 800 mg epigallocatechin gallate), may process anti Cervical Dysplasia in women with persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and low-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN1)(1).

According to the The Catholic University of Korea, the green tea extracts (polyphenon E; poly E and (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate [EGCG]) in a form of ointment and capsule are effective for treating cervical lesions with 69% response rate(2).

Turmeric is a perennial plant in the genus Curcuma, belonging to the family Zingiberaceae, native to tropical South Asia. Its phytochemical curcumin may be effective for chemoprevention of cancer(4).
According to the Medical Research Center, Kasturba, India, Curcuma longa Linn extract, arrested low-grade squamous intraepithelialneoplasia (LSIL) a 12 week intervention through attenuated the circulating IL-6 pro inflammatory levels(5).
Dr. Prusty BK and Dr. Das BC. in thestudy of the effectiveness of curcumin against human papillomavirus (HPV) transcription and AP-1 activity in HeLa cells suggested that curcumin may be a novel therapeutic ingredient to control pathogenic HPV infection through its potent antioxidation(6).

Phytoestrogen, such as isoflavonoids found in legume with both estrogenic and antiestrogentic effect  depending to the levels of estrogen in women  may inhibit the induction of  Cervical
Dysplasia(7). Accordi,ng to the University of Hawaii, five isoflavonoids (genistein, glycitein, daidzein, O-desmethylangolensin, and equol), two flavonoids (hesperetin and naringenin), and two lignans (enterodiol and enterolactone) exhibited a positive association between specific
phytoestrogens and premalignancies of the cervix(8))(3).
Dr. Fedotcheva TA and colleagues said, "the half aximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) value of genistein (0.2 mM) for the growth inhibition of HeLa cells is at least ten times higher than that one of tamoxifen and cisplatin--drugs, used in cervical cancer treatment"(9).

The effectiveness of Alfalfa Sprouts, curcumin and Green Tea may serve as cornerstones of pharmaceutical target for further studies in production of a potential medication for for Reduced Risk  and treatment of Cervical Dysplasia with little or no adverse effects.

Women who are at increased risk of Cervical Dysplasia  due to sexual active with many partners,..... should drink the smoothie twice a day and women with Cervical Dysplasia should drink as much as they can, depending to the digestive toleration.
