The smoothie for prevention and treatment of Glomerulosclerosis
Yield: 2 servings (about 8 ounces each)
1  cup sweet potato
1/2  cup carrot
1 cup Spanish drink

1. Place all ingredients in a blender and puree about 1 minute
2. Blend on high speed about 1 minute or until the mixture is thick and the ice is well crushed.
3. Serve immediately

The finding of a natural source for treatment of Glomerulosclerosis has been running into many obstacles, many ingredients showed initially with promising result in animal studies have not produced same potentials in large sample size and mutli centers human trials.

Glomerulosclerosis is a health conditon of hardening of the glomerulus with function of filterring urine from the blood in the kidney. Recent studies suggested that CoQ10 found abundantly in spinach may benefit patients with Glomerulosclerosis. Defects in coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) biosynthesis, manifested in patient-derived lymphoblastoid cell lines(3) is associated to focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in children and in adults(2).
According to the Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, Coenzyme Q10 alleviated glomerulosclerosis on the lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzymes activity in alloxan-induced type 1 diabetic rats(1).

Vitamin E, found abundantly in sweet potato, ameliorated  expression of glomerulosclerosis, restored renal neuronal nitric oxide synthesis (NOS) by suppressing the  oxidative stress in animal model(4)

Retinoic acid, a derivative of vitamin A , found in carrot can revert renal progenitor differentiation and promote podocyte regeneration in progression toward glomerulosclerosis(5).
According to the The First Affiliaionted Hospital of GuangXi Medical University, all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), a promising therapeutic agent with function mimicked those of vitamin A, exhibited the protective effect against glomerulosclerosis (GS) lesions in rats, similar to renin-angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS)(6).
Dr. Zhou TB and colleagues at the The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, said, "(all-trans retinoic acid) ATRA can increase the gelatinases expressions and reduce the accumulation of apoE in glomerulus of GS rats,...."(7).

The effectiveness of Spanish, Sweet Potato and Carrot may serve as cornerstones of pharmaceutical target for further studies in production of a potential medication for for Reduced Risk  and treatment of Glomerulosclerosis with little or no adverse effects.
People who are at increased risk of Glomerulosclerosis due to aging, weaken reno function.,..... should drink the smoothie twice a day and people with Glomerulosclerosis should drink as much as they can, depending to the digestive toleration.
Life style and dietary patter change are recommended.
